Live Panels: A set of custom widgets and panels which will provide additional contents to Honeycomb, like weather, calendar, and more. The widgets and panels are resizable, following a grid pattern. The rear camera has autofocus too, far from a given in a cheap tablet. Autofocus lets you take close-up shots.

Stevens, Tim (2 June 2011). "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hits NYC Best Buy 8 June, nationwide on 17 June". Engadget.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A still has an excellent screen at the price, though. It’s sharp, plenty bright enough for indoors use and colour is not obviously weak or undersaturated.

The Dutch magazine Webwereld reported an investigation into evidence contrasting the two devices submitted to the German court by Apple, in which the Galaxy Tab pictured does not accurately reflect the product in terms of its shape. An example from the court document shows the Samsung device with aspect dimensions much closer to Apple's device, and the Samsung logo appears to have been digitally removed. Additionally, the Galaxy Tab is shown with the Application drawer in contrast to the iPad in its home screen, which gives the impression of a similar user interface. A port of Ubuntu to run natively on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been currently in development as well, [8] which boots via the moboot multiboot bootloader (using the same method as the Android port). The port is currently in an early alpha stage and is functional.

The big “but” is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A’s processor. It has an Exynos 7904 CPU with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU and 2GB RAM. This team just scrapes by in every respect. There’s the occasional bit of system lag, apps take a little while to load and you can clearly see the limit of the graphics power when you play some higher-end games. Savov, Vlad (10 May 2011). "Google gives away 5,000 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets to devs at I/O". Engadget. Samsung Scores Victory Against Apple In Germany". December 23, 2011. Archived from the original on January 7, 2012. Selfies predictably look quite soft in indoors lighting, and aren’t great in any conditions. But both of these cameras are frankly significantly better than I expected. I wouldn’t call them “good”, though, as they are slow to use. The camera app takes a long time to load up and the app feels a little laggy.
