Maybe I will start with a manual pump and see how I get on.(Or even get the other half to do it..lol) We had used pump before but this had taken an age to blow our Kampa Air Tent. I used this on my own for the first time and within moments the beams were starting to stand and in under 8mins this tent was up and solid. best pump ever We are dedicated to exploring all that touring has to offer, ensuring excellent service is provided to our membership. The Dometic Gale Pump is a 12v air pump designed for use with the range of Kampa & Dometic tents and caravan awnings.

Interests: Camping / caravanning & Trailer tenting. Mountain biking, trikes, jetski, vintage Tamiya RC buggieshow many times a day are we inflating these awnings? I am a relatively fit 64 year old and I inflate ours just once at the start of a trip and have never felt the need to electrify the process. A 12V electric pump designed specifically for use with Kampa AIR awnings and tents. Simply plug into a 12V power source using the extra long cable, set the required PSI and let the pump take care of the rest.

The pump has a max psi of 12. 5, I managed to get my awning up to 9psi, it was running for about 10mins to reach that. Thanks. Which attachment fitted the Ventura? Tried them all on ours, but maybe doing it wrong? We have previous on doing stuff wrong. The Dometic Gale 12v electric pump is designed specifically for use with Kampa and Dometic AIR awnings and tents and is a perfect match as it includes a screw on adaptor designed exclusively for Kampa and Dometic tents and awnings, replacing the manual pump that comes as standard with all models. Obviously, only of use if you can get at the caravan battery easily, which I could. A true 5 minute job! I use a 12v pump for mine. It takes 6 minutes to fully inflate a 3.9m awning. I also have the hand pump (just in case) but have never used it. (I’m a fit 65 yr old)

Ours isn't unreliable just slow. We keep it because we are told it will go to a higher pressure if it's windy so the poles will be more stable . . . Yeah, I was really impressed at the way the pump performed, even after my tinkering with the fitting. I have one of these and it sits in the bag with the cables, so no faffing about with cables etc. It does circa 4 inflations before it needs charging again and works a treat. Also useful on holiday for pumping up kids inflatables rather than busting your lungs on those! Had mine 2yrs now and works a treat Used the gale pump today, it isn't quite but not overly loud. It was running for a 2 or 3 minutes and nothing seemed to be happening. The only indication that air was going in was the psi meter was going up. A few minutes latter and the awning was erect. Am reasonable fit for a fat 60 year old but am lazy ? so Kampa Gale electric pump for me, plugged into 12v inside van to inflate our vango awning.

I used this along with a Sevylor Pump, connected straight to the caravan battery, very heavy duty adaptor and away it went. Anyone waiting for the new Kampa Gale air pump, they are finally in the shops. Apparently the delay was due to being held up by the customs. I've just had the call from my dealer to go and collect mine. The pump will inflate up to a max of 12.5psi and comes with a 1.5m inflation hose as well as a long 12v supply cord with cigarette lighter plug and is approx 15 feet long (5m). It's less effort than the handpump, but not as fast. It does get it to a higher pressure than I can normally do manually and, having an auto cutout guage fitted, is better in that respect.I use an electric pump, the Kampa yellow one, to blow up our air ace 400, takes less than 2 minutes. I have a Kampa fiesta pro and find it doesn't take as long to blow it up manually than using a 12v pump and the kampa pump will not over inflate the tubes. There are probably better 12v pumps out there than i used but the i couldn't justify the cost. Bought a gale pump earlier this year, only used it a couple of times and all is ok, tend to stand it on one of our awning tiles as that does quieten it down a bit, also as Vango thought it was a great idea to put the valves on the inside of the awning that also helps to eliminate some of the noise!!! Do your research fully before buying any awning. There have been more than a few reports on here about Kampa’s tendency to leak, especially around the zip area. (I had one that tended to “seep” through the roof. It wasn’t condensation,) I have a gale pump, works as it should . Word of warning . . it’s not desinged to work with the original air awning as it doesn’t screw to the valve properly.

Penrose Touring will only be dispatch awnings to the main island of the UK - this excludes delivery to places that are not on the main island and typically, though not exclusively require travelling over water / sea. Examples of excluded places are

Ref the screw adaptor at the inflation end of the hose ~~~ sure it is a brilliant concept but a better system would be to have the same union at the pump-end (two floating unions).
