About this deal

It starts out with synthetic, in-your-face lavender but dries down really well to be sweet, creamy, woody notes with remnants of tobacco (if you’re looking for it). The florals are just accessorial to the following base and are not so characterizing while a starring presence is represented throughout by the fresh lavender/watery citric notes accord that manteins a sort of cool-aqueous vibe in the middle of the creamy tobacco (the typical "aqueous creaminess" of the scent) becoming finally a sort of white radiant powder. I seem to choose this one more for daytimes than for evenings, and it always puts me in a positive frame of mind. It all coalesces nicely, without any one of the many notes screaming above the blend (after maturing for about a year).

The combination of main accords, including strong woody, vanilla, aromatic, and lavender scents, make this fragrance ideal for autumn and winter. Fans of Amouage's 'Reflection' may take note of this scent, as they are extremely similar in both scent and performance. And while it may not be the fragrance of choice when you want to win hearts; it most definitely is when you want to win negotiations. And Bogart deserves a proper test over a few hours: smelling it on a test-strip just won't give you a true sense of this quality fragrance.

It was a solid, leathery fougere that while powerful never was so over-the-top that it couldn't be worn as a good daily scent. Performance is relatively tame considering the house which released it, but it's still a strong fragrance. To those of you who think this is grandpa'ish , pay no attention to greatness and continue bathing in watermelon shpritzers, daddy has work to do. If you are the type who makes quick decisions based on the initial spray, you will probably dislike this as much as I did.

It doesn't have the complexity of Paco, but the drydown is a very pleasing leathery-spicy mixture with some greens, and it manages to be smooth and rich without being overly sweet. no, because it has an historical value, and despite it is the pure stereotype of fougere perfume, it just sucks and smell of Jewel-Osco (the bathroom, not the fruit department).

It quickly shifts its tone within minutes of spraying, after the opening there is a middle stage where the aromatic fougere is mixed with a slight powdery sweet tonka bean scent with dark undertones. While UNIQUE in nature, if you're like me and like these, you'll likely like Bogart: Paco Rabanne, Azzarro, Borsalino, and Basile Uomo. It projects for only about 10min then settles down to faint skin scent for a couple of hours, after that no scent can be detected. It's still got a strongly green and spiced opening, but space has been made for the other notes and elements of the scent to shine. I have to say the first blast is very synthetic and a little annoying to my nose but after 60 seconds or so it starts to emit a wonderful tobacco and slightly cherry scent even though they are not listed as notes.
