About this deal

They've got a reassuring weight to them, yet are a perfect size and not heavy, and the clarity through the lenses is way beyond anything I'd had previously. Small in size yet big on performance, they are the perfect choice for birdwatching, hiking, sports viewing, travel and the outdoors. They perform just as the extremely helpful ‘Choosing Binoculars Guide’ and question/answer section described; lightweight yet large enough to enable clear sighting both at garden bird feeder distance and further afield. Is there any one pair of binoculars which would satisfy all those requirements or do I need two pairs (or one pair of binoculars and a telescope)?

Avalon 8X32 Mini HD Binoculars (BLACK) – Procular

I have a pair of binoculars that will not focus when watching birds at around a distance of 8 metres away as the subject is too close.Although we also love and appreciate the Zeiss Terra we must admit that there is a noticeable difference. Featuring a stylish waterproof design and fully multicoated optics, they produce bright, razor sharp images. I am very happy with them, they fit easily into my bag, don’t get too heavy when using them for longer periods and the images are lovely and clear.

The lower magnification allows you to spot the Puffins more easily and achieve a nice stable image once you do.This is my first pair of binoculars so I’ve got nothing to compare them with , but I really like them . I know my sight is deteriorating but also wonder if after all these years would these binoculars require a service? However, you really should think about getting a good pair of waterproofed binoculars, even if you are not the type who likes to look at your subjects while out in the rain. However, the retractable eyepieces on my binoculars are very loose and manually have to be held in place to stop them from closing up. Within the mid-range 10×42 models, Avalon 10×42 PRO HD really shine with outstanding quality optics, while Zeiss Terra ED 10×42 are also fantastic for birding if you can afford them off course.

These binoculars were for use in a more static setting and I intend to use a monopod or tripod because of the high magnification. I wanted binoculars mainly for birdwatching as I visit slimbridge quite often and I lost my previous ones. I can’t really see the shore birds miles away, but the diving ducks and eagles on my side of the bay are well within view. These are my first binoculars and so I didn’t know what to expect but am really enjoying using them for bird watching. I would recommend these compact binoculars to anyone who wants a small but powerful magnification when trying to travel light.

They are not strictly bird watching binoculars but more of an all-around performer, suitable for any kind of wildlife exploration, sight seeing or travel. My wife was really pleased with Avalon 8X32 binoculars, her previous binoculars were large and heavy, the Avalon are a lot smaller, lighter and she’s able to carry them in their own case for bird and animal viewing whilst out walking, very easy to focus good magnification and excellent quality, we are both really pleases with this purchase.

Eye Relief: The relief is the amount of distance between your eye and the eyepiece when you can still see your subject. A problem is that my viewing point is south of the birds so I am looking into the sun and the bird is shadowed. The bird watching binoculars recommended at the end of this guide are suitable for use either with or without eyeglasses. Bought these and also a pair of the 10*42 s for our trip to Malaysian Borneo to check out orang-utans, monkeys and lots of birds. At any time of day, you'll be able to clearly see your subject or enjoy the beauty of the scenery when you have the Bushnell 7X50 H2O binoculars with you.

Rather too early to make a constructive comment but they appear live up to the positive reviews and video. The National Geographic binoculars are also shock resistant with rubberised surface for extra protection – if they were to slip out of your child's hands! We personally like 10×42 overall simply because they can be better used for other types of viewing besides birding (seeing landscapes, beach/country, sports etc.
