About this deal

If the soil in the planting area is compacted, dig it over to loosen it – this will encourage the conifers’s roots to spread out. With heavy or sandy soils, dig in organic matter, such as garden compost, over a larger area (rather than in the planting hole) to improve the soil structure. We have one of the widest range of trees in the UK, and for those plants which we cannot despatch next day we will normally despatch within 4 weeks. The despatch time for different products will be confirmed when products are added to your shopping basket Never spray with fertilizer or feed during hot, bright weather or you will risk scorching the leaves. Spray in overcast weather instead.

Container-grown conifers can be planted at any time of year, but avoid planting during hot or dry weather unless you are prepared to water well A hole no less than 1m across and 25cm deep should be dug when planting your conifer. Add organic material such as compost or manure to the hole, and fill it in carefully so that you don’t damage the roots. Climber: Naturally climbing plant. Usually delivered running up a cane, ready to position in the garden. Newly planted conifers need very careful watering during the initial stages. They are drought proof once established and should not need too much watering, but they are very vulnerable to stress from drought if they are not watered thoroughly. Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana is commonly known as Lawson’s Cypress and is a family of evergreen conifers native to the Western USA, from the coast up to an altitude of almost 2,000 metres. As conifers, Lawson’s Cypress are very useful, thriving in oceanic climates and well able to withstand strong winds. They are a good choice ofornamental coniferand as a hedging screen in more exposed areas. First introduced in the UK in 1850, when seeds were sent to a nurseryman Peter Lawson in Scotland. Today, there are over 450 cultivars.Light with air ventilated, clean from dust apparently the plant doesn’t like long time with dust on the leaves Root-balled and bare-root conifers are available in late-autumn and winter and should be planted as soon as possible after they arrive During the next winter further shaping that need cuts into woody growth, can be done however if necessary minor tidy up pruning could be done at any time of the year. Establishment problems can also occur in young or newly planted conifers. Larger specimens will experience more problems establishing, and will require much greater aftercare than younger specimens. Watering the plant well, but not excessively, and not planting it too deeply should help it to establish better.

Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society for its noteworthy qualities Evergreen refers to plants that hold onto their leaves or needles for more than one growing season, shedding them over time. Some plants such as live oaks are evergreen, but commonly shed the majority of their older leaves around the end of January. Watering Cans: Whether you choose plastic of galvanized makes no difference, but do look for generous capacity and a design that is balanced when filled with water. A 2 gallon can (which holds 18 lbs. of water) is preferred by most gardeners and is best suited for outdoor use. Indoor cans should be relatively smaller with narrower spouts and roses (the filter head). Full Sun in cold climate preform better / Half Shade / Full Shade, in place with hot summer will grow better in half shade to full shadeBrown patches may occur on conifers. There are a number of causes; pests such as the cypress aphid and scale insects can be treated with sprays and foliage removal. Parasitic wasps can also be brought into greenhouses as a biological control for removal of scale insects. Chamaecyparis Lawsoniana Ellwoodii Gold (Lawson’s Cypress) has highly attractive & eye-catching foliage – its light green leaves, particularly the new growth in spring are tipped with golden yellow, giving it golden hue. This is particularly spectacular as the normally green pom poms turn to gold.
