About this deal

The book helps young people to understand the different types of anxiety, how to manage them and 'starve' the anxiety gremlin. This informative workbook is easy to read and fun for a young person aged 10+ to complete either on their own or with the help of a parent or practitioner. Progressive muscle relaxation – exercises that will help you to recognise the differences between feeling tense and at ease.

I think it would be a great asset to therapists and parents of anxious youngsters, and it also provides a very useful resource for teachers dealing in any pastoral capacity with anxious youngsters, because it offers an excellent, accessible and straightforward introduction to using CBT techniques with young people. The extensive use of visuals and repetition of topics and concepts makes this series a good fit for youth on the spectrum. Bringing to life communication difficulties that impact socialization and learning, this book removes the guesswork by offering practical solutions and classroom-tested strategies.

A Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Workbook on Anxiety Management for Young People by Kate Collins-Donnelly. One of the best parts of any of the three books in the Gremlin series in the real-life stories from others struggling with the same challenges. From this perspective, teachers can gain trust and nudge students into the space where learning happens. Based on cognitive behavioural principles, this workbook uses fun and engaging activities to teach children how to manage their anger by changing how they think and act – getting rid of their Anger Gremlins for good! Samaritans offer a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever’s getting to you.

Childline (under-19s) trained counsellors provide confidential support on anything – no matter how small or large. However, we know that it is made up of thoughts and feelings (physical and emotional) that make us behave in ways that can make the anxiety feel worse. It also uses many examples from the experience of other worried youngsters, which bring added clarity to theory and practice.

Kate Collins-Donnelly has worked as a therapist, psychologist, criminologist and anger management consultant based in the UK for many years. Starving the Exam Stress Gremlin can be completed independently by young people aged 10+ or with supervision, and with exam stress on the rise among our young people, this invaluable resource will also be of interest to school counsellors, teaching staff, youth workers and social workers and parents. But never fear - starve him of depression-related thoughts, feelings and behaviours and watch him shrink and shrivel away! Filled with proven activities based on cognitive behavioral therapy principles, this imaginative and entertaining workbook teaches young people how to control and work through their anger by helping them to understand why they get angry and how their anger effects themselves and others. Through a period of some significant challenge, the services offered by Anxiety UK has been fantastic, and whilst there is a long road head, progress is positive and forward.I also liked the interactivity in the book, although it was near impossible to do this with a Kindle.

Starve him of stress-related thoughts, feelings and behaviours and feel him and your stress fade away! Packed full of stories, puzzles, quizzes, and colouring, drawing and writing games, this is an excellent resource for parents or practitioners to use with children aged 5 to 9 years. These books would be useful for professionals who are already working with children, but would like to introduce a more activity based approach or extend the range of materials which they already use.Exam fears and worries are his favourite foods, and the more of these you feed him, the bigger he gets and the more stressed you become.
