Increase the number of stitches by making yarn overs. To do this, simply bring the yarn to the front of your work and then knit the next stitch. This creates an extra stitch on your needle. Using the left needle, lift the first stitch over the second stitch and off the right needle, leaving one stitch on the right needle.

Cont in rev st st (RS purl, WS knit) throughout, beginning with a WS row, until work measures 13 (15:17:18) cm from cast on edge, ending with a WS row. Once you have finished casting on your stitches, you can begin knitting the rows to create the base of your mushroom. This can be done using either the knit stitch or the garter stitch, depending on your preference. To give your knitted mushroom its shape, you will need to stuff it. Use polyester stuffing or any other soft material to fill the mushroom evenly. Be careful not to overstuff it, as this may distort the shape. Once you are satisfied with the fullness, secure the stuffing by pulling the tail of the cast-off yarn tightly and tying a knot. 3. Finishing the Base Accessories: Consider making small accessories to go with your knitted mushroom, such as a tiny knitted basket or a mushroom house. This can add a creative and fun element to your project.Teapot cozy that looks like a toadstool or mushroom that has been converted into a little house, the perfect dwelling for little faries or pixies. I think you could also easily convert to a toy by seaming and stuffing. Designed by TeaCosyFolk While I knit on dpns, I am reasonably sure you can also finish it using magic loop. And, if you don’t mind a larger finished project, you can knit using bigger needles and heavier yarn as well. Preview of the pattern Using a tapestry needle, thread a length of yarn through the stitches at the top of your mushroom. This will be used to create the cap.

Cont in st st beginning with a P row, work rows 1 - 7 of chart, repeating 8st rep of chart 6 (7:8:9) times. Break yarn and thread tail through remaining stitches, pull to inside of cap and weave in end. Mushroom Stem Patterns Tall Stem Create the shaping: To shape the mushroom cap, you’ll need to decrease stitches gradually. Switch to the circular knitting needles or double-pointed needles, if necessary, when there are too few stitches for the straight needles. For the cap of the mushroom, you will use the garter stitch. This stitch is created by knitting every row, which creates a textured pattern that resembles the surface of a mushroom cap. How do I shape the mushroom cap? Transfer this new loop onto your non-dominant needle by sliding it off the dominant needle and onto the non-dominant one.
