About this deal

There are also questions that are answered, questions that arose through this series, and questions that arose from the very first series in the Realm of the Elderlings. We have a couple of scenes of the Duke and his advisers discussing his "dragon man" and the duke's courageous daughter Chasim and her attempts to start a revolution among the women of Chalced.

It was also interesting to see Rapskal taking on more and more of the characteristics of his long-ago counterpart Tellator as he spends more time immersing himself in Kelsingra’s memory stones. In Blenheim Palace there is a huge, 15th century tapestry showing the then Duke of Marlborough looking extremely grandiose, sitting on a horse leading the British Army. This is the fourth and final book in Robin Hobb’s Rain Wild Chronicles quartet and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever been so pleased to come to the end of a series! Blood of Dragons continues the story from the previous book, City of Dragons, with our band of young keepers and their dragons beginning to make their way into the deserted Elderling city of Kelsingra. This even goes down to the mundane, rarely has an author given me the sense of a world where characters eat breakfast, get bored, go to the toilet and have very normal concerns the way Hobb does, despite this being a world with dragons and sea serpents and magic. It's really barely a Fantasy novel, but more like slightly displaced 19th century novel set in the American West, and that's just something most Fantasy readers are used to. Robin is damn good at drawing characters and her characters are what stay with us after we have put down her books.

Even if however I am incorrect on her motivations, that doesn't stop the fact that I did feel if Chasim was to serve more purpose in the plot we needed to see more of her, and especially more of her that did not involve such brutality, since I never really got a sense of who she was. When she married a fisherman who fished herring and the Kodiak salmon-run for half the year, these skills would stand her in good stead. Other works as Robin Hobb include The Soldier Son trilogy and short stories published in various anthologies. Bello come tutti i precedenti ma le ultime 50 pagine mi hanno lasciato meno affascinato da questa avventura. Her short stories have been finalists for both the Hugo and the Nebula awards, as well as winning the Asimov's Readers Award. It is also good to see all the trilogies come together in a sort of understanding that takes your mind back to key points from other stories.
