About this deal

That would be nice if a T12 iron could solder a significantly larger tire lug (I don't believe it*), but I want an iron that solders the 99% of my normal soldering the best. I would recommend the unit, it heats up incredibly fast, and the controls are easy to use, the iron holder is heavy and very solid, as is the control unit and the iron cord is nice and long. With 91 Variations of Tips and various other accessories available to purchase separately, the FX951 is a real workhorse for both the professional or hobbyist. When the Co-Browse window opens, give the session ID that is located in the toolbar to the representative.

A solder station it's not an Android tablet with fancy software, it's a tool to solder at any adjust. Also available is the FM2032 micro soldering iron for more intricate designs and smaller components and the FM2026 nitrogen soldering iron which allows for a more efficient work flow. Changing tips, I see the airgap and there's the problem - you can't get good heat transfer that way, for both the sensor or the heater. It will discuss the features and benefits of the station, cover the power and temperature specifications and display the setting and changing of the temperature.I have the analog FX-888 and the only iron I've personally owned that came close was an old Antex and that is probably more fond memories than reality. Quote from: Tarloth on September 03, 2019, 06:24:23 pm I go for the option of a 951 or a new Metcal without any doubt.

In my Hakkos or in the Pace that I test I set one temp and solder almost all of the components without compromise. Testing unsoldering, worse grip than needle nose pliers, not unexpected so still keeping pliers in toolkit. variations of HAKKO Tips accommodate various types of soldering from IC modifications to soldering to power sections.I would say get the FX-888, and with the money you saved get a hot air station and powered solder sucker (desoldering station) if you don't have them already.

Hakko’s T15 Series tips for use with the FM-203, FM-204, FM-205, FM-206, and FX-951 stations -TIP,CHISEL - Note: T15-D16 is available in pure nickel construction as T15-1608 for soldering with specialize alloys. Although a relatively simple circuit, time spent including redesign, desoldering, soldering, troubleshooting estimated about 4 hours, a good test of using these new tools in a practical application for a serious project. This makes the soldering station ideal for places to which unauthorized persons may also have access. In the Pace I can change the temperature easiest than Hakko, but the presets are the same to change or worst and really I use the presets all the time, never I need to change the working temperature in 2 degrees, If one preset it's not ok I take the next one.

A nice feature is the solder pencil goes into sleep mode when placed into the solder stand, this helps extend tip life. I used a station that took an actual 30 seconds to warm up (which I say because I actually timed it) - a cheap 45-50W Velleman re-badge. I think I must have bought over a dozen different T12 tips and probably more than half are still unopened. In fact, the T12 is so good, I use it for soldering SMA connectors too, while when I was using the FX-888 as my main station, I had to switch to a soldering gun for that.

No reflow oven or hot air station yet, but wanted to get familiar with solder paste; haven’t used yet, sticking to solder wire. Like when you switch it on, change the temp, select a preset, swap tips, the mysterious absence of the control card that blocks the user interface, what do you think about entering temp offsets?

Check the display after switching to the soldering iron number for the soldering iron that does not get hot. Perhaps the components to solder selected by the seller not where the best option, but all connectors that I did solder with the Pace at showroom took the same time and effort than with the 951 and most the same time than the 888D. The Sensor is housed in the tip allowing the station to respond almost instantly to temperature changes as you solder and maintaining the highest levels of performance. And I DID NOT MAX out either iron, so I don't know which iron can solder a larger tire lug when you peg the iron to max temp.
