I installed it no problem but the device doesn’t link to the app with it only recording my electricity and not my gas although both at times are displayed on the Bud. There are also companies that sell IHDs and other types of energy monitor you can connect to your smart meter, and third-party apps that use your smart meter data (if you consent) to give you insights into your use.

When your smart meter is installed, you should be offered a small in-home display that shows you this information.If you'd like us to investigate this issue, please do let us know by submitting a bug report in the app. Consumers are still left with few mainstream options for getting real time smart meter e nergy usage info onto anything but an IHD.

After one hour, I can’t praise this highly enough and hope my mind isn’t changed during the forthcoming hours, days and weeks. I really have trouble to see why these devices should be locked to one address, and cannot go on second-hand market. The ivie Bud can be reset and moved to a new property if you relocate, while supplier-provided IHDs can only be paired with smart meters they were initially installed to. A lack of constant Wi-Fi access will be an instant showstopper and you’ll never get the device running, while a lack of a smartphone and/or paperless billing will make the setup process a lot more difficult.
