There’s no trauma, grief or suicide here, just Anya’s common sense advice on how to live a more fulfilling life. She has honorary doctorates from UEA and the University of Essex but lives in London, where her proudest achievement was hosting a sleepover in the bed department of Peter Jones. This is an autobiography/memoir (not sure) which also of course acts like a rather unusually helpful self-help book. Russell Foster, Professor of Circadian Neuroscience at Oxford University said that "when people are very sleep-deprived they can only lay down negative memories in their long-term memory. Even though she covers mental health, daily routine and lifestyle, love and friendship, society, work and pretty much everything else in between - I personally enjoyed the parenting section and parts of the book perhaps the most.

I’m not sure anyone can live life at this pace and altitude and not experience anxiety, self doubt and severe jet lag.All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! True, authentic behaviour – the patchwork of thousands of tiny experiences and moods and conversations and reactions – is much more important than clever taglines and catchy campaigns. I don't think it's a coincidence that you can't pick up your phone when your hands are covered in dough or clay, or busy weaving.

Anya talks about her journey as a businesswoman and a designer, her life experiences, she shares what she has learned and wants to pass on, from to-do lists to balancing work life and personal life, to telling you to just go for it. Then the tap turned off, making Occasionwear and being so tied to events you can image our target market was pulled from under our feet. The book is nothing startling or new and a bit too much about motherhood for me (not to mention slightly middle class) but it was pleasant enough. And also that I constantly worry how I don't mess up at parenting because I not only realise how important a role of a parent is + how the kind of relationship you build with them growing up is going to determine the kind of relationship they have with you when you are old. Entrepreneurs are more doers than reading through tons of small print (hat's what you hire lawyers etc for). I have underlined lots of quotes and highlighted some sections that I really liked and connected with.

Really enjoyed this sensible yet very warm and comforting read, it felt like a whirlwind stop of all the easy, great life advice you would ever need in one handy guide. Her book promises straight-talking worldly advice, which there is some, but about a third into it she switches to focusing on her story as she built up her business and the challenges she has faced along the way, and this is what makes up the last two thirds of the entire thing. And it’s with this honest and open approach that she goes on to detail her battles with anxiety and her life spent building a business. Here she shares what she has learned during her busy and eclectic life, what she still worries about, and what advice she has received along the way.
