He is no nonsense and debunks so many untruths we’ve all been taught during our fitness and weight loss experiences. I’ve read non of them from start to finish except one book, the Steve Job Biography as I’m a fan boy. The type of a person, who constantly compares themselves to others and feels like a failure, especially when scrolling through Instagram profiles of fitness influencers. James Smith is armed with every tool you’ll ever need to achieve incredible results – from dieting, training and staying in shape to identifying the fads, cons and nonsense that get int he way of genuine lasting progress. low; and how all of this is having a negative impact upon all areas of your life, relationships and happiness.

James Smith (born 1989) is a personal trainer and social media influencer best known for posting fitness advice videos across various platforms. Started good and I thought it was interesting but the middle part of this book should of been kept for his memoirs. You can't turn around in modern society, or go on the Instas or the Tik Toks or Twitterbook without someone offering you their personal advice on fitness. This is why I follow him and happily bought a book that rehashed so much of what I already knew, and why I highly recommend his program to all of the people. Simply put, for someone who is troubled or confused by any aspect of a fitness journey, this book is for you. Pick any exercise that you like and find rewarding, there isn’t a hierarchy of the ‘best’ ones, you have to enjoy it and want to do it.

I've participated in diets, attended slimming clubs, shared recipes, toned down my favourite foods into healthier alternatives, and sacrificed the food I enjoy. My personal view is it is a helpful, informative good read that would ultimately benefit from a deficit of James.

The health of the masses is an important topic on any given day, but with the plethora of 'fitness gurus' that exist down the street or on the socials or on TV, many of them miss the point here. I think it will be someone, who is discouraged from having tried to lose weight many times and has many explanations as to why their efforts had not panned out. Like many people, I find his rants on social media entertaining because he gets so worked up about what other people are telling him to do. Only you can take the reins of your own life and choose to make a change, but with invaluable experience, a hunger for genuine happiness, and a drive to be the kind of coach he needed when his life was broken, James can give you the tools to do it. A lot of the book was rehashing stuff that I was already familiar with, having followed him and suchlike, but that's to be expected.I cannot stress enough how good this book is at breaking down the sheer magnitude of misinformation and deception within the health and fitness industry. Track your calories, (but not on holiday) eat enough protein and don’t stress if you over eat or have a calorie dense meal or a wild bender of a weekend because “one hot day doesn’t make a summer”. It comes across that James genuinely does want to help people live their best, healthy lives without getting sidetracked or derailed by all the confusing nonsense in the fitness industry.
