The Holy Stone HS720G flies well and the controls are the same as more advanced drones, so it provides a standard flying experience in this respect. As the connection between the controller, your smartphone, and the drone is through Wi-Fi, there is a tendency for the signal to be lost if you fly further than roughly 120 m at an altitude above 60m. You can fly higher with no signal loss when the drone is above the controller, but a combination of altitude and distance is the issue. True 4K camera, able to record video at 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second (fps), or 1080p resolution at 60 fps. Video and photos are recorded to an onboard microSD (TIF) memory card. After testing, the Holy Stone HS720G battery takes around 2 hours to charge completely, which is one of the few cons of purchasing an HS720G. However, the H720 comes with two batteries.
It has brushless motors with foldable propellers, which during my tests proved to be underpowered for the size and weight of the drone. In windy conditions, the Holy Stone HS720G struggles to keep its position.When put to the test in real conditions this model reaches about 450m in an urban area with medium wind before triggering the return home feature. The control is pretty good up to this point but the FPV dropped before this. In terms of the camera, the HS720G a 1/2.3-inch sensor shoots 8Mp photos and 4K video at 30fps or 1080P at 60fps. Pilots can adjust ISO sensitivity, White balance, Brightness, and Saturation or add special effects such as Grayscale or Nostalgic. This function enables steady hovering so that you can take distortion-free photos and videos. You will know where your drone is all the time, something that enhances the safety of the aircraft. It’s easy to operate as long as you operate in GPS mode; if you are an experienced drone pilot, you may switch off GPS and fly faster. The drone also holds up well in slightly windy conditions, although I would recommend beginners refrain from flying, where controlling the drone will be challenging. Cost-wise, however, the drone comes in significantly below that while at the same time including extras like spare batteries which DJI expect customers to dig deeper for.

The Holy Stone HS720G has a maximum range of 900 meters before it loses connection with your smartphone and remote control. The good thing about this drone is that it will continue to record footage even after it loses connection and save it to the SD card attached to the camera.
