As we wrote in our lengthy retinol description the problem is that the conversion is not terriblyeffective. The evidence that RP is still an effective anti-aging ingredient is not very strong, in fact, it's weak. Dr. Leslie Baumann in her fantastic Cosmetic Dermatologybook writes that RP is topically ineffective. A skin-refreshing moisturiser containing 3% encapsulated retinoid cream to combat fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Basically I've only really recently started to understand skincare properly. The traditional process is that the ripe argan fruits fallfrom the tree, then goats eat them up and poop out the seeds. The seedsare collected and smashed with a stone to get the kernels inside. This part is the hard one as the seeds have extremely hard shells. Once the kernels are obtained, the oil is pressed out from them (the kernels contain about 50% oil). Retinol: Retinol is a form of vitamin A that aids in reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. It helps promote skin cell turnover and renewal.Shea butter naturally emolliates dry patches and provides a quercetin boost along with some natural sun protection. Organic Tamanu Oil: natural oil extracted from the seeds of a tropical evergreen in Southeast Asia. It is rich in antioxidants and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Not going to lie, after reading all that I was very excited to try it and maybe even a little bit scared! As with my other moisturisers from them, the top of the jar is screw-top and easy to get off. There’s no cardboard/foil seal that you usually find on moisturising creams, which strongly suggests that there are no artificial preservatives (another brownie point from me). No need to worry about that greasy feeling when using the Tamanu Oi l offered by Facetheory. Instead, you’re left with dewy-looking skin that feels fresh.
