About this deal

Physical Therapists Bob Schrupp and Brad Heineck have over 60 years of combined experience in the physical therapy field.

There were no issues with jolting or juddering over their skin, making for an extremely smooth massage experience. Its laudable range of massage heads includes a four-finger attachment that mimics a human hand (it sounds creepy, but it’s effective! I spent 12 weeks fully testing the product, and in this article I’m going to share my experience, thoughts and feedback. Though a considerable investment, the new iteration of the Theragun PRO comes with a host of clever upgrades, including a brushless motor for reduced noise, two new attachments, USB-C charging and a high-resolution OLED screen for following pre-set routines – a feature that earned high praise from our tester.

Instead, concentrate on the big, meaty muscles such as the biceps, triceps, thighs and glutes, and don't use it for too long — it will only make things sorer! I got this massage gun as I've started to go to the gym recently and I wanted to find something to alleviate the pain of the second day and I must say I'm positively impressed. Though it’s not the lightest device we tested, we found it easy to hold the tilted matte handle without it slipping, even when we were using it on our back, and it’s not too noisy either. LOUDNESS: both objectively (with Decibel app) about 60-65 decibels, however TE is higher pitched and whiny, and sounds louder according to clients. It earned a few bonus points for its instructions too, which contain handy diagrams to help you get the most out of your percussive pistol. It was able to glide over their skin without snagging or causing any (additional) discomfort, and was surprisingly quiet in use — ideal for giving your muscles some much-needed TLC in front of the telly. The brand boldly claims it reaches 60% deeper into muscles than standard massage guns to banish deep-set aches and pains. There’s also a battery on the back below the on/off button which flashes red if the battery is 20% or less and needs to be recharged. These two physical therapists have amassed millions of followers on YouTube, and it’s not hard to see why: they’re funny, charismatic and they know their onions.

The massage gun also comes with a short booklet providing ideas for how to massage specific muscle groups. Although D6 has 2 more, in practice, I will probably use just 2-3, primarily the ball, thumb, and wedge attachments , which both models have. Speaking of which, the app is excellent, offering warm-up and cool-down massage routines and alerting you if you’re using too much force. The soft foam covering and contoured design allow you to get deep into your muscles without putting pressure on sensitive areas, and you can choose from three speed settings to find the intensity that’s right for you. Most of all, we noted if the gun made a real difference to our sore and tight muscles and if it would become the essential gadget we couldn’t live without. Its adjustable arm means you can use it all over your own back, but our testers noted you can’t see the screen if you’re doing that. VERY intense even on the lowest setting, survived about 2 minutes before tapping out (maybe I’m just a chicken! Even better, it’s the same size as an iPhone and comes with a sleek travel pouch, so it’s a great one to take on holiday or to the gym.

The Therabody app particularly pleased our tester; it’s packed with beginner-friendly follow-along routines for exercise recovery, sleep, work, travel and more. As for effectiveness I find it helps with pain and soreness, it will not cancel it obviously but I definetely feel better after and expecially while using it! Hard to reach areas: I’m a pretty mobile/flexible guy, but trying to massage my spinal erectors (which get really tight) was a little bit tricky. Take your foam rolling routine up a notch with the Vyper 3, best described as a vibrating foam roller, which Hyperice claims will ‘accelerate your warm-up, speed recovery time and keep you moving better.Switch the gun on at the lowest setting and move it over the muscles you want to target, such as the biceps, thighs or glutes.
