About this deal

I’m not sure if Katy Brent wanted to produce anything other than something darkly entertaining; however, How to Kill Men does challenge stereotypes and evoke questions about accountability and who has the right to be judge, jury and in this case executioner! She loved bankrolling her life with her Instagram money but constantly bitched about what it meant to be an influencer.

Plus, for an old codger like me, an insight into fashion, drugs and lifestyle that both enlightens and depresses. Kitty definitely doesn’t suffer fools and her one woman crusade to rid the world of those men who she believes the world is better off without, is at times, hilariously funny yet emotive. Cause what you don't know is that Kitty has a stalker and whoever that stalker is, he or she seems to know a lot more than they should.I was a fan of the writing style and tone in general, and I will definitely be looking out for this author in the future. She started work in magazines back in 2005, In 2006, Katy won a PTA award for New Journalist of the year. There is a pretty drastic plot twist towards the end as well, and I didn't really see that one coming. Some of my favourite scenes were, bizarrely, the murders themselves, especially the first couple that were accidental. On the one hand there are some very devastating sexual abuse crimes dealt with in this book but on the flip side there are some very campy, gorey revenge killings which I personally found very enjoyable.

You can totally see too, the influence of Made in Chelsea with some of her friends - I rather enjoy that too! I've been trying to come up with any aspects that I liked about this book, but I seriously couldn't think of anything. If you love a bit of dark humour (and I mean dark) and aren’t put off reading about some incredibly dark topics (rape, on screen murder, physical abuse, drug and alcohol abuse) then I would definitely recommend checking this out. She’s such a bad ass, with a dark dark sense of humor, a lot of sarcasm in her and a little sweet edge. How to Kill Men and Get Away With It by Katy Brent is a gripping page-turner you just can’t tear your eyes from. I absolutely refuse to be around anyone who thinks they’re better than me because a) who has the time to waste hanging out with anyone you just will never get along with and b) no one is better than me. I found Kitty intriguing – obviously there’s the serial killer streak – but I wanted to know about her past, there’s hints throughout that her childhood wasn’t completely plane sailing. I was hoping for a horror movie vibe with a woman killing rapists and abusers and I was not disappointed.
