This GO-tcha can differentiate between Pokemon you already have registered in your Pokedex and new Pokemon that you have not already registered. It can be configured to try to catch either variety manually (by tapping the button) or automatically (you don't have to interact with it). You can also use it to spin PokeStops either manually or automatically. So how does it work? Very well as soon as you connect the device sets about hoovering up any Pokémon in the vicinity and if selected it will auto spin Pokestops. The display shows when a Pokémon is nearby with a x2 logo if it is a known Pokémon and a ?? logo for unknowns. It will also show a Pokestop logo when it spins a stop and it will then tell you the number of items you have received from the stop.

The key difference here - outside of the fact that the unit has a small OLED screen - is that the Go-tcha handles everything automatically; you don't need to press a button to perform actions like spinning Pokéstops or catching monsters. As soon as you're in range, the Go-tcha does this for you. This might sound cheap, but there are times when it's just not feasible to keep pressing the button on the Pokémon GO Plus (when you're driving, for example). The accessory can emit radio waves that can affect the operation of nearby electronics, including cardiac pacemakers. For those experienced with the prior Go-tcha devices, I can tell you that this device pair up with the app much more crisply Strictly speaking, this device is as un-official as it can be. As such, its use is against Niantic's terms-of-service. It's conceivable that Niantic could devise a change to Pokemon GO that would "break" these un-official devices. I don't know how they could do it without breaking the legitmate devices as well, but it's in the realm of possible. Nonetheless, if you're concerned with strict adherence to the terms of service, then this device may not be for you. Seems to function great. I have poor internet and poor wireless in my house. This can cause some issues, but it is not an issue with the device. So far I’ve had it set on vibrate, because I’ve heard this device can disconnect after certain periods of time. This doesn’t bother me, nor have I had it running long enough to test, but I don’t want to have it not running, so I keep it on vibrate.I’ve only had one issue with reconnecting, and I forget what caused the issue, but I know it had something to do with me playing with the settings. As the manual states, when the device is charging, you can push it in 10 times rapidly, and this resets the device, if you ever have any connectivity issues, do this, and it will be fixed. Please read this Operations Manual before using the Pokémon GO Plus accessory and also the manuals for your smart device and the Pokémon GO application. If this product will be used by young children, this manual should be read and explained to them by an adult.

When attaching the cover, verify that the tab on the battery cover is correctly aligned and inserted into accessory. If the tab is not properly inserted, water resistance is adversely affected. You will use a LOT of Poke Balls if you have automatic catch mode turned on. Refer to the above note about running out of Poke balls. I stopped carrying my official Go Plus because it's just too much like work, causes too much frustration, takes away too much playing time, and is just a pain I don't want to deal with when I should be enjoying playing. When this device is set to catch only new Pokemon, the process is not rapid. It often takes a number of seconds to filter through all available Pokemon until it finds one it recognizes as new to your Pokedex.
