A fun, wild and boisterous adventure full of paw-tapping music and dancing, played live on-stage by talented actor-musicians, The Lost Spells is a riot of colour and a new Alice in Wonderland, celebrating the magic, power and wonder of nature that could be just outside your window. The audience was always reminded that humans, animals and nature were all connected – the true meaning behind the show. TheFolk by the Oak festival team, proud commissioners of Spell Songs, were thrilled with the release of this wonderfully inventive, dazzlingly beautiful bookand the opportunity to create new music with the Spell Songs Ensemble!

The exhibition will also feature a recording of a song by vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Cosmo Sheldrake. Children will be able to write their own spell-poems before speaking them into the wind, dress-up as wildlife, and take part in arts and crafts based activities led by Northumberland National Park Rangers. There will also be a range of self-led walks for people to explore the National Park’s landscape. A beautiful companion set to the award-winning and internationally beloved phenomena, The Lost Words and The Lost Spells, adults and children alike will love receiving, sending and displaying The Wild Cards.Crowd-funded campaigns resulted in the book being bought and donated to more than three-quarters of primary schools in England, Wales and Scotland and to every hospice in the country.

As well as being a celebration of their spellbinding work, this new exhibition is a chance for visitors to learn more about Britain’s native species, many of which can be found in Northumberland National Park, and how together we can protect them for future generations to enjoy. Nature is so big and spectacular and deeply magical and The Lost Words delivered that to children in a way that’s not magic dust and wands,” she said. “So much educational material for children is a bit boring or dumbed-down and this just gave them permission for their imaginations to run wild.”It has a 1/60 (1.6%) chance to drop from a Chest, Bronze Sealed Chest, Lost Cargo, or Dark Sealed Chest Teachers were inspired to draw up free teaching resources for The Lost Words and Morris said one of her favourite stories came from a school where children in an “eco club” used to hide their badges, but since reading the book had worn them with pride. “I guess it gave them courage to believe and to love the wild,” said Morris.
