About this deal

The Stokke was very complicated, I took it home in hopes that having enough adjustable straps would ensure that I could make it fit, I just needed to figure it out right? Nope, no matter how I adjusted it, the shoulder straps put awkward strain on both my husband and I, the straps should have sat flat but once the baby was in it pulled away. The carrier was incredibly time consuming to get on--but you can do a lot of adjustments before you put the baby on you. The carabiners that hook on were cumbersome, annoying and truly just for show, a simpler snap/hook could have done the same thing and not been in the way (plus I imagine that hunk of metal near the baby's hands/head could get hot in the sun!). I wanted so much to like their carrier, but after a few weeks I had to return it. the infant cushion, while adding to complexity, does make it even easier to get a good, safe hips fit for the teeny tinies.

More than that though, I also love the way that it looks. To me, I feel as though I’m strapping myself into a futuristic space suit. Though I can see some one else feeling that it’s more streamlined chic to go with a more modern look. Personally, I love it. They didn’t sacrifice any comfort or durability to maintain a very cool aesthetic. Babies love being held close to mom or dad, feeling the warm comfort of their chest and the gentle rhythm of their breathing and heartbeat. But unless you're Ronda Rousey or Mark Wahlberg, your arms and shoulders are going to get very tired from lugging around a growing baby all day. That's where baby wraps and slings and soft-structured baby carriers come in! Has that contoured, close to baby hugging feel of a wrap carrier but with the ergonomic support and ease of a structured carrier. I love the zip down panel feature. I took baby girl for a walk today and it was in the 70s and very sunny, and she didn’t sweat at all. The carrier felt like it would be pretty warm with the panel zipped up, which will be nice for when we visit family in Michigan. The hood worked pretty well to keep the sun off her head. The Ergo fit low on me despite many adjustments and just felt odd, additionally it only goes up to 33lbs which I worried would leave me with a short usage period. It did have a easy conversion to forward facing out, but to me it seemed like the fabric was pinching the baby’s legs a bit Keri: The design of the sling is brilliant. It has features that I look for in a sling so I would definitely buy this product. I like the style too as it looks comfy and fashionable. The price of the sling is really good, it matches other slings out there on the market. It seems to have a few more features than other slings out there which is what mums are looking for when purchasing. So, my first impression was that this carrier is pretty similar to a Gemini. The seat base is a bit wider, and the panel is a little taller, but the fit is similar. My baby jusssst fit without the infant insert, but we may use it for a few more weeks to be on the safe side. To find you the best baby carrier of the year, we tested out 11 new models and 4 updated models. We carried infants from 4 weeks to 11 months old, and toddlers from 12 to 30 months. Our testers included petite, average-size, and plus-size parents, to ensure appropriate adjustability for all shapes and sizes. Full disclosure: Some of these carriers, including the Contours, Beco, Ergobaby, and Moby models, were sent to us as free test samples by the manufacturer.

From Newborn to Toddler: The Beco 8 is a hybrid baby carrier wrap, designed for carrying your teeny-weeny newborn all the way into toddlerhood in comfort and style! The newborn carrier includes a handy infant insert. Baby carriers also hold some advantages for development and well-being. For example, research shows that baby carriers can help new parents bond with their baby, calm a fussy baby, and learn about their needs and behavior ( 1, 2). According to the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI), a properly worn baby carrier that supports your baby's hip in the M-position can also encourage healthy hip development, a proposal supported by pediatric and orthopedic research. Each year, there are dozens of new entrants into the baby carrier market, making it challenging to make an informed decision about which ones are best for you and your baby. Nathasha: I feel a lot more confident carrying my baby on my own and just using it ad hoc around the house, even when doing the gardening. I felt the breathability aspect was particularly useful as I felt my baby was actually cooler in the summer heat when I was trying out the carrier. My baby really seemed to enjoy facing outwards in this carrier and would sit in it even on the tube for long periods of time which he never would have done in our other carrier.
