About this deal

What I did like about this book was the focus on friendship. I loved the bond that Joni, Saffy and Mary made. A real mismatch of women and personalities, but the perfect blend for a fantastic friendship. The author portrayed loneliness well and explored the feelings that come with being lonely. I’m glad that the three women found each other, despite it being for such rubbish reasons!! Whilst I did love their friendship, I found the last 10-15% of the book unnecessary and dragged out. I think it could have ended a lot sooner than it did. I loved Lucas and I liked the development of his friendship with Joni. He was really funny! I loved it. The set-up is glorious – a woman who joins a dating app with a fake photo meets a man whose photo is the only real thing about him. A novel about friendship and treachery that contains what must be the killer twist of the year. Totally brilliant’ TONY PARSONS

Kate Kelly appears to have everything going for her. She is the head cheerleader, student body president, maintains a 4.0 GPA and appears to be dating one of the most sought after guys at Westmont High. She is also being considered for the new reality tv show Real Life. But things are about to change for her in ways that she never imagined.

I finally finished this BELTER of a read from Jane Fallon...It is FABULOUS - with such warmth and humour, and the usual dose of the dish that is best served cold. Just Got Real is the perfect summer read.' * CLAIRE ALLAN * Overall, I was entertained, but not fully invested. However, I would definitely read more books by Jane Fallon. What I mean is, although it is a YA book, it was clearly written for younger younger adults. This is not a bad thing, but the writing was pretty cut and dry for my taste. It is geared more towards the younger tween reader. The set-up is glorious - a woman who joins a dating app with a fake photo meets a man whose photo is the only real thing about him. I whipped through Just Got Real by Jane Fallon in a single sunlounger session and howled with laughter . . . A tautly plotted story of betrayal and revenge, it's threaded with authentic characters and heartwarming friendship -- Clare Macintosh * Good Housekeeping *

Another Fallonesque treat. Full of heart, humour and humanity. She's so good at tapping into the best and the worst in us. Fabulous RUTH JONES Her best yet! Ingenious and entertaining as ever but this book has a lot of WARMTH and HEART' MARIAN KEYES
