About this deal

From my perspective, the downside was that it wasn’t the most transparent sounding speaker compared to other loudspeakers in the Klipsch range and it left a bit to be desired when it came to detail and top end airiness. Horn loading accomplishes two things. First, a horn's restricted throat mechanically loads the dome (or cone). This restrictive loading creates a region of high pressure that a horn whose flare is of a certain length and rate of expansion can effectively convert to a large, pulsing wavefront at normal atmospheric pressure. This elegant form of tuned acoustic impedance matching not only makes a horn speaker more sensitive to voltage, it reduces the amount of diaphragm excursion required to produce a given sound-pressure level (SPL), thereby linearizing the system and reducing distortion. Within their designated passbands, horns can be incredibly linear and low-distortion—especially at very low and very high SPLs, where conventional direct-radiating speakers compress and distort. It’s much the same story for the tweeter, where the new 600M proved to be surprisingly flat, but best of all, not the least bit fatiguing. While the speaker’s tweeter may be titanium it doesn’t ring or have that metallic sheen to its highs that you get with the 600 Anniversary Series from B&W. The V2s Highs are airy and extended but they simply do not shout at you nor do they become sharp at high volumes the way some metal dome tweeters can. If anything, at the absolute extremes –think anything above 14kHz – they’re more reserved or rolled off, trading the potential for shrill and fatiguing for breathy. While this speaker hits the highest of highs, it doesn’t do so with the same energy as the Sonus Faber Lumina IIs or the Monitor Audio Silvers, meaning, of the three, the Klipsch pairs a little better across a wider range of music genres, which is something I don’t believe I’ve said about any Klipsch speaker…ever! KLIPSCH RP-600MII SOUNDSTAGE PERFORMANCE

Keen to exploit the efficiency of the RP-600M II by swapping out the Naim for my 14W Leak valve amps, the headbanging stuff was abandoned for a spot of cool jazz. Playing Art Blakey'sBlue Note recording of Indestructible, the Klipsch horn made its presence felt with a raspy rendition of Lee Morganand Wayne Shorter'shorns (trumpet and tenor sax, respectively), while Reginald Workman'sdouble bass sounded slightly fatter than usual. It wasn't the most neutral reproduction of this session I've heard. However, Art Blakey'sdrumming lost none of its drive and swing, making for an energetic and vibrant listen.Klipsch RP-600M II spekaers replace the RP-600M and improve on an already excellent bookshelf model, a larger alternative to the RP-500M II. Measurements are provided in a format in accordance with the Standard Method of Measurement for In-Home Loudspeakers (ANSI/CTA-2034-A R-2020). For more information, please see this link.

The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience. The exclusive Linear Travel Suspension minimises distortion for enhanced, detailed performance. LTS tweeters are a hallmark of previous Reference lines, making it a core component of some of the best speakers in the world. VENTED TWEETER DESIGN That said, fit and finish are excellent, and they bring music alive like no other speaker I’ve heard at the price point. Their enthusiasm and clarity play well will any genre. Also, If you loved the first 600M, you definitely owe it to yourself to hear the sequel. They take a winning formula to the next level. The grandest perk of being a reviewer is when sniffing through the grass leads me to a high-performance product capable of wide-ranging appeal at a price point that shouldn't scare anyone. In my sniffing, I have encountered a few products of this type, whose success I've applauded because it is so much fun to see legions of happy audiophiles united in their approval of a product so unusual that they may not have considered it had it not been ardently championed in the audiophile press. compared to a lower max handling speaker. Loudness or the sound level is also impacted by parameters
