About this deal

You CAN avoid getting blisters – don’t wait until the blister “pops” and then deal with it, and the associated infection. In 2010 Olympic rower Andy Holmes died from an infection (leptospirosis) contracted through blisters on his hands – so this matters! The first sign of a blister is a 'hot-spot' of irritated, sore skin. Putting zinc oxide tape or plasters over the hotspot creates an additional layer, which takes the friction instead. This can also be done preventatively on known hotspots. Skin Friendly. If by some chance a blister does form under the tape, when you rip it off, the tape will not tear the roof off the blister and won't remove any skin. ZINC OXIDE TAPE is non-stretchy, has high tensile strength, strong adhesion and conforms to the skin. Because it doesn’t stretch, it is perfect for immobilising joints or creating changes in muscle, or joint position. IS ZINC OXIDE TAPE GOOD FOR BLISTERS?

If you don't wish to carry around a big roll of leukotape, you can wrap a section around a hollowed out and cut-in-half writing pen or wrap some around a lighter. You could even cut strips and put them on plastic-based film sheets. To immobilise joints and provide support to them. How to treat a blister?

Be careful not to apply the tape too tightly as the patient’s blood flow may be restricted. If the patient reports any unusual sensation or loss of feeling, the tape should be removed immediately.

Zinc oxide tends to dry out weeping sores. It has an astringent effect on the skin, shrinks pores and absorbs excess fluids from the surface. Therefore it is a very useful tool to ease bruises and blisters and even prevent sensitive areas like heels and toes from them when applied in advance. Antiseptic and Antibacterial When applied correctly, the zinc oxide tape can reduce swelling through compression. Protects Vulnerable Body Parts from Injury An effective, short-term measure is to cover the foot and affected area in petroleum jelly. This should provide some relief from pain as it protects the skin and lubricates. However, as the heat from your foot melts the petroleum jelly it runs away and is ineffective. Draining a blisterYour blisters rarely form right when you finish hiking. Most of the time you will need to continue hiking several miles on them. This is a super common problem with an easy fix. Experienced race doctor @isitaboutabike who has looked after runners and their feet on 100 mile ultra marathons was hugely helpful and offered lots of excellent advice, Based on the original sports tapes that have stood the test of time, our Tiger Tape Zinc Oxide proves to be as popular as ever from amateur to professional sports. So what is the best type of tape to use for preventing blister? If you injure yourself on the trail while hiking, a roll of Leukotape can save the day. Taping the injured joints, ligaments, or muscles will help prevent any further damage. Using Leukotape to Prevent Blisters

Some leukotape brands contain natural rubber latex and may cause an allergic skin reaction if you have sensitive skin. Blisters are the bane of a hiker’s life. Even a well-fitted, high-end pair of hiking boots can go bad and cause you issues…usually when you are as far from civilization as it is possible to be!Neither duct tape nor moleskin will perform well on wet, sweaty surfaces. They are not particularly skin-friendly and you will have to replace it often. Watch out for signs of infection –these include swelling, redness surrounding the blister, yellow/green discharge or pus from the wound (not to be confused with normal transparent yellowish fluid you might expect from a blister) increase in pain and excessive heat from the area.

As a result it is more suited to withstand the demands of sport. Our ZINC OXIDE TAPE has been used by water sports athletes with great success. Due to its rigid and firm attributes, it promotes stability in weak joints when applied correctly. It is commonly used among athletes and physiotherapists to give extra support to vulnerable body parts. It can also be used to immobilise a joint to prevent pain when undertaking sports and exercise. It has shown to be adequate to work with the tape strip-by-strip, which means if you want to stabilise a joint: go around once, tear/cut it off, go around, tear/cut it off. Caution with Sensitive Skin Our versatile sports tape is easy to wrap around the body part or hand-tear in strips for use as stirrups, providing extra protection so you or your players FEEL READY for any challenge. As you tape your foot, bend it while pointing your toes upwards and start working the cover roll at the heel of your foot, working your way up to just before your toes. Use smaller strips for your toes and finish it all off with long strips from the inside of your foot to the outside. Be careful not to introduce creases and keep your foot flexed upward (dorsi-flexed) so that you don’t apply the tape too tightly. Blisters do nicely doing nothing! Doing things may help keeping going in an event or to return to training again comfortably ASAP. Once blistered my favourite is to pop/aspirate (using sterile needle and syringe) tape down with mefix* on dry clean skin, and apply Vaseline over that.”
