About this deal

From a kid’s perspective, the D3F is an absolute blast. Frankly, I was surprised at how much our junior test rider liked the D3F. According to her parents, it’s gotten her excited about bikes to the point that she won’t stop asking about it. The seat is adequately padded, with an unusual shape that slopes toward its center. The seat post is short for my 6’0″ frame and caused me some discomfort while pedaling. Portability is another strength of the DYU D3F. Weighing just 38 pounds and equipped with a folding handlepost and grab handle, this Electric bike is exceptionally easy to transport. Whether you need to take it on public transportation or store it in a tight space, the DYU D3F’s compact design ensures that it won’t be a burden. Its lightweight nature makes it an ideal choice for urban commuters and individuals who frequently need to carry their bikes. I think it goes without saying that the DYU D3F is a weird little e-bike. We’ve come to call it the “clown car” bike because our testers — especially me at a lanky 6’1” — look a bit ridiculous when riding it.

The bike looks a little odd, and the first ride has a similar vibe, switching between childish fun and the slightly awkward feeling that accompanies riding an undersized bike. At least for me, at 6’0”, the fit is less than ideal, yet somehow manageable for short periods. If the DYU D3F can really go 30+ miles, the range test is going to be a tough one! So in a nutshell, the D3F seems like a great toy e-bike. Plus, for short-range or mixed commuting with a lower weight and general profile, its mobility is increased. So, is it a toy? Or could it be of some use to budget-minded commuters? Let’s take a look at the pros and cons and find out more.

The Verdict: DYU D3F Folding E-Bike Review

It weighs 17kg, so it’s not something you’d want to carry for a long way, but it is very convenient. Normally in this section we’ve got a big chart comparing how the braking power of the e-bike being reviewed compares to the braking power of all the other e-bikes we’ve reviewed.

What makes this miniature e-bike an e-bike is its 240W rear hub motor housed inside the rear wheel. It’s a Class 2 motor with a throttle and a single level of pedal assistance, all of which is capped at 15.5 mph, according to DYU. We like the look and design of the DYU D3F, as it offers something different and fun from traditional electric bikes. Although, you’ll need to get used to turning heads as you ride. In this DYU D3F Folding E-Bike Review, I would be remiss not to mention that while excellent for smooth road commuting or leisurely jaunts, it’s no off-roading beast. Small wheels and a compact frame do not a mountain bike make. You may feel more shake, rattle and roll than you’d like on uneven terrain. The D3F is a compact, lightweight electric bike with tiny wheels. It is different from other electric bikes on the market due to its eye-catching looks and incredible compactness. The motor has 250W and is mounted in the rear wheel hub. It has a top speed of 15.5mph. This may not seem that punchy, but it’s as fast as you want to go on an electric bike like this.
