About this deal

A light spritz of hairspray will give you the reinforcement you need if you feel as though the hold from label.m matt paste isn’t quite what you need. Dries to a hard, stiff film, making it useful for priming canvases if stiffness is required. It can be used as a rabbit skin glue alternative. GAC 500 Consider yourself a normal haired bloke? Well, I’m afraid I can’t direct you one way or another, you’ll have to stay with me a short while longer before we can find a definitive answer. The medium has a lot of potential, but requires some practice to understand. Apparently, using heat alongside will create interesting effects, so it would be interesting to experiment with this. Mixing water with the mediums did little to improve it in any way. Overall, it looks sleek. Everything about it oozes “professional stylist”– it’s what you’d expect to find on the shelf of a salon.

The popularity of Label. M Matt Paste 120ml can be attributed to its ability to provide both hold and texture without making hair feel stiff or crunchy like some other styling products do. It has won several awards over the years, including the Men's Health Grooming Awards in 2019. It was very difficult to make it smooth and show up tool marks very distinctly. It would be very useful if you wanted to create distinct levels within a piece. Having said this, I do think the product is versatile enough to lend itself to more defined styles as well thanks to the waxy ingredients.

If you were planning on applying some sea salt spray or other texturizing pre-styler, it’s a good idea to do it before blow-drying to really maximize the effect. 2. Break Down A Dime-Sized Amount With that admittedly prophetic introduction, I am thrilled with the newest addition to my haircare range launched just this week! These 60g tins of Matt Clay and Matt Paste reveal new possibilities for experimentation and continual styling. To divulge a little, it had become apparent to me that 100g tins, whilst an excellent choice for those confident of their needs, presented slightly too much for a Nobleman unsure of which product would benefit him the most. I shan’t worry too much (yet) about those asking for a more travel appropriate size! It’s a pretty expensive product but considering the quality of the finish and ease of application, it’s just about justified. Value Ratings

The Label. M Matt Paste 120ml is a versatile styling product that provides long-lasting control, texture, and definition to all hair types. First released in 2005, it has become a popular choice among men and women alike. The more you apply, the heavier it’ll feel and the more difficult it’ll be to build texture and volume with. It really doesn’t take long to break down between the palms which is nice. After 10 seconds of rubbing you shouldn’t feel any bits or clumps – all you’ll be left with is a gentle shine on the palms.

It’s always easier to apply creamy hair products to clean hair than it is with oily or greasy hair.Clear Tar Gel, Leveling Gel and Glazing Liquid affect paint’s viscosity, flow and drying time, but all are levelling, smooth and transparent. Self levelling with some flexibility. Best used as for a spray-applied isolation coat. Two parts of GAC 500 mixed with one part High Flow Medium produces a good spraying, fast-drying isolation coat. Useful to hard-edge painters to seal masking tape for cleaner edges. Apply over masking tape. Let dry before applying additional paint layer. GAC 700 On the other hand, my Matt Paste is water-based, relying on integrated styling polymers to set your desired style in place. It is a lighter product, so can present a set of advantages depending on your hair type. Because the paste sets your hair, rather than holds it, you’ll find it a more formidable product for a strong, unfailing look. Their bases, my friend! They are, at their core, entirely different entities. My Matt Clay has an oil base, which has a greater viscosity than a water base, and therefore has a different effect when taming and controlling the shape of your hair. The clay mixes three hardworking and natural ingredients; the titular clay, which is where our matt finish texture is found; beeswax, for a little shine and powerful hold; and oil, which holds the combined product together smoothly.

It was easy to skim the top of the surface with a wet palette knife, to decrease the texture with both the pure paste and also the paste that had been mixed with acrylic. I was surprised at how smooth you could make the surface. I’d say the finish was low shine or natural-finish and gradually dulled as the day progressed which was absolutely fine. Doing a wash of colour over a thin layer of beads seems just as effective as mixing a transparent colour in. Plus, the awareness that the product has gotten as a professional product and fashion industry favorite does lead to a bit of a premium.

If your hair is on the longer side, I would say this product isn’t durable enough to get you through the day. But pastes are considered a short hair product anyway, so that’s not unexpected. INGREDIENTS 8.0/10 I was surprised with how lifeproof Label.m Matte Paste actually was, for months with my short hair, it actually became my daily driver. For the messy quiff I like to shoot for, it became easy to use and quite reliable. The finish wasn’t always the best (because it’s sometimes a touch greasy), but it was convenient to only need 1 product to achieve a decent style. What sets the Label. M Matt Paste 120ml apart from other similar products is its unique formula containing beeswax, which gives hair a natural-looking finish without leaving any residue behind. Additionally, this paste contains kaolin clay, which absorbs excess oil on the scalp while providing a matte finish. It mixed easily with fluid acrylic, I chose a transparent Quinacridone Magenta, that created a gorgeous glaze, or rather lens, over an earlier painted mark. This really wasn’t an issue because the product is great for restyling. The soft, pliable hold you get can easily be brushed or finger-combed through halfway through the day if necessary.
