About this deal

R600: Magnificent rendition of the Chiaroscuro Quartet's interpretation of String Quartet no. 1 by Beethoven. I recently bought some Kef q150s. I'm playing them through a niles SI 2100 amp with a Sonos Connect plugged into it. I use the max stream setting in Spotify to stream to the connect.

The R200 proved truthful at both low levels and high, able to deliver a solid bass and a remarkable clarity of midrange assisted perhaps by that new X-Port, while the Pinnacle tweeter gifts an airy and open treble beyond the likely limits of perception. This tweeter comes directly from Polk’s flagship Legend series, and its ring radiator design means no central dome to enter break-up modes, so here achieving lower distortion within the listening range and indeed beyond, as the Pinnacle is ‘hi-res certified’. The speakers also come with USB for easy connection, and there is also an integrated Chromecast for even easier streaming of your favorite music and other audio. Additionally, you can use an optical input for TV and game consoles, or you can connect the speakers to your home network via Ethernet. This makes it easy to integrate the speakers into your existing multi-room setup. R100, a two-way construction for NOK 5,799 for the couple. They have a 5 ¼ ”Turbine Cone driver for midrange and bass.

They also have a solid bass extension for their size, and their soundstage is pretty great too. It’s not too narrow, not too wide— vocals snap to the center but the speaker throws out a sizeable soundstage without sounding too diffuse. Dynamics are excellent for a bookshelf speaker too, and the R200 can handle volumes louder than I’m comfortable with without a hitch.Ohms is pretty much the standard nominal impedance amongst stereo speakers and amplifiers so Polk Audio Reserve R200 is not considered a difficult to drive speaker from nominal Impedance perspective. I am happy with the Audiolab, I too was keen between Marantz or the Audiolab but I prefer neutral sound. BTW I had these paired with the QA3050i. Happy to answer more questions if any. The reserve series was launched at the end of March 2021, but before we delve into this series, which is the second best in Polk Audio's hierarchy, we will take a look at the flagship series that was launched just over two years ago. POLK AUDIO LEGEND

The Early Reflections curve is an estimate of all single-bounce, first-reflections, in a typical listening room. The smallest floor model R500, which is a 2-way construction for NOK 13,999, -. It has two 5 ¼ ”Turbine Cone drivers for midrange and bass. The microdynamics are also clearly above average, and provide very dynamic music experiences on a wide range of music. I explain what all of this means in the spinorama section of my measurements guide, but we can focus on a few key things here. At this year’s AXPONA show, the Polk Reserve R200AE speakers proved that you don’t have to break the bank to get excellent sonics, including room-rumbling bass. The letters “AE” in the model name stand for “Anniversary Edition” because this collectible edition of the acclaimed R200 bookshelf speaker—which is limited to 1,000 pairs worldwide—was launched to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. This spinorama also tells us that the R200 appears to be mostly free of major resonances that color the sound; this would show up as a bump that stands out in each of the top curves, and can contribute to a speaker sounding boomy or having a grating sound at specific frequencies. Knowing for sure would require an anechoic chamber or advanced tools I don’t have access to, but within the resolution of my system, the R200 performs admirably.
