About this deal

It's got a very vibrant taste to me. I don't have the developed palate to describe what it tastes like, but I enjoy it, and it'll be my go-to gin, especially at this price point.

Roku Gin The Japanese Craft Gin | Morrisons

Drinking this gin gives you a sense of calmness and peace – like a walk in the Japanese botanical gardens. Sometimes, fakers of Roku Gin are overly enthusiastic and overfill the bottle. This can be a bit hard to spot because it doesn’t happen all the time. Palate:Complex, multi layered, yet harmonious flavour of various botanicals. Traditional gin taste in the base, plus characteristic Japanese botanical notes with yuzu as the top note. Smooth and silky texture. A very fresh twist on gin with a great clean finnish . I love this gin and will be adding this to my go to list .I’ve been enjoying this with Schweppes Bitter lemon, ice, and a slice this summer. The dryness and floral notes compliment it well for me. Does the plastic or foil seal look uniform or neat? Fakers of Roku Gin often skip over the seal part by either using clear plastic or with crooked writing as this is something most people overlook. The seasons of Japan are alive in every sip of Roku gin. Crisp and clean, each sip sparkles with six Japanese botanicals: after all, Roku means “six” in Japanese. Floral notes of cherry blossom are met with the fresh and herbal aroma of green tea. Serve in a gin and tonic, poured over ice and garnished with thin slices of ginger. Roku's botanicals are harvested at the peak of their season, or "shun". This imparts rich flavor, leading to Roku gin winning loyal fans across the globe.

I’ve just tried this gin last night and the first drink was a standard gin and tonic and as others have mention the gin has a very sting taste. The second drink I tried it with fresh ginger. Wow wow wow amazing the best gin combo ever These four seasons include the beautiful sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Each botanical has been harvested at the peak of its season to extract the best flavour, and distilled to fully embody the blessings of nature. The harvest of the four seasons has been blended to create ROKU's balanced flavour. All the botanicals are distilled separately to extract their unique characters before bringing all 14 together in this epic gin.Intense bitter perspective?” Hardly. This is is a contemporary dry gin, and had gin originated in Japan, this may well have been a classical style. It’s full of the usual suspects like juniper, angelica, and coriander, but also uniquely Japanese ones like Shansho “pepper,” a citrus with a numbing heat like Szechuan pepper (its cousin). The taste is unmistakable, and dominant. It It’s uniquely Eastern, and tastes like eel with rice on the coast at a summer sunset. It pairs well with a yuzu soda or fever tree, either light tonic (their best tonic) or elderflower tonic, but plain soda and ice are just as well. I prefer it over all other Japanese (export) gins for, while modern in fact, it feels old and well worn, like a gin “should” to my mind. Sublime with Fevertree Mediterranean tonic. Love this gin. Curiously reminds me of the lotus tea I tasted in Paris years ago! I find it makes a lovely G&T muddled with a generous slice of fresh ginger and Fever Tree Mediterranean. I’ll have to try it with the elderflower version soon, as suggested. The Roku Gin bottle is designed to reflect the aesthetics of Japan, with the six natural Japanese botanicals embossed on the hexagonal bottle symbolizing Roku – which means ‘six’ in Japanese.
