Single and double taps on the right earbud also answer and end phone calls. Pressing and holding on the right earbud rejects a call, but the same gesture on the left earpiece switches between the movie and music listening modes. Two taps on the left earpiece summon your device's voice assistant. Three taps on the left earbud cycles through the EQ modes—JLab Signature (the default), Bass Boost, and Balanced. And three taps on the right earpiece toggles the ambient Be Aware mode. Once they are out one earbud blinks blue and white indicating that they are ready to pair to your device Bring the outside in. Select "Epic Air Sport ANC" in your device settings. Voice prompt "Bluetooth connected" followed by solid white lights will indicate you are connected. The silver JLab logo on each bud also indicates where the touch-sensitive areas are, but I found the controls are a bit on the fussy side. I had to be pretty deliberate with my taps to get them to register, although more problematic is the number of commands there are to memorise: five for the left bud and a frankly ridiculous eight for the right. The JBuds Air Pro have a warm sound signature and come with proprietary EQ3 Sound, which is the company’s three-EQ mode available on all JLab wireless earbuds. Each mode (Balanced, Bass Boost, JLab Signature) can be directly enabled on the buds and tweaks sound for better or worse, depending on your music selection. JLab has two apps, one being the aforementioned burn-in tool and the other reserved specifically for the Epic Air Sport ANC. With the new JLab App, you'll be able to increase the active noise canceling from off all the way to max ANC, (on your ANC compatible earbuds) while in the earbuds themselves you can only select on or off. Another common issue for one earbud not to be working is that your earbuds aren’t sitting correctly in the case. This can prevent both earbuds from successfully connecting to one another. This can be due to simply not placing them correctly in the charging pins, dust & debris build up in the charging pins that need to be cleaned, or you’ve placed the tips of your earbuds incorrectly, thus preventing your earbuds from sitting perfectly on the charging pins. The charging case is just above average in size, with a flip-top lid and status LEDs on the front panel. JLab remains committed to the hardwired charging cable, which snaps into a recessed area on the bottom panel for tidy storage. We're not fans of the hardwired design—not only is it impossible to replace the cable, but the cable is also very short. Yes, the products in JLab's lineup are affordable, but adding a standalone cable to the box shouldn’t affect the price significantly. More importantly, a hardwired cable decreases the value—if it goes bad (and cables eventually do), you need to replace the whole case (or, more than likely, the whole product) rather than just switching out the cable.
