About this deal

Wait momentarily after plugging the headphones in, occasionally it takes a few seconds to begin charging. Granted you are getting a pair of headphones that can now last 40 hours instead of 24 hours, which is nice. But we do recommend you skip the Skullcandy app. While the company promises the ability to change the sound, to make it more personal through the Audiodo tool, we found it muddied the sound throughout, and we were better off without using that feature. The Skullcandy Crusher Evo come with 40 mm drivers that cover an impedance of 32 ohms at a frequency band of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. As expected, the focus is naturally on the low-frequency range, which are quite strongly emphasized. At least if you use the haptic “Crusher Bass”, which can be adjusted with the slider on the left side. Enhance and customize your listening experience with the Skullcandy App. Control product features and settings, access user guides, and update product firmware versions as Skullcandy releases updates to some products in market.

Podcast Mode' reduces bass and sharpens human dialogue to make podcast conversations more clear and is great for podcasts or audio books. The Skullcandy Evo mirror the company's other headsets in design — fairly large, with cushioned earphones. These did fit tightly to the ear, a bit too snug at times, but they also felt secure. The top is covered with a soft, almost fabric finish — which makes them easier to hold. Currently a number of customers are experiencing connection problems with Android devices and the Skullcandy App. Though widely known, the issue is not consistently from device to device or with the same product on different phones. We appreciate yourpatience as we work through this issue at this time. You will be able to listen up to 30+ feet (10+ meters) away from your paired device, though your connection experience may vary based on your environment. The first thing I notice with sound? No lag. Even the Crusher ANC seem to have a lag, where TV and voice do not match up. With the new Crusher Evo the sync is perfect. And that is both a relief and excellent. You can personalize sound in the Skullcandy app for three different kinds of content: music, movies and podcasts. You'll also set up your personalized sound in the app which, when your headphones are paired here, and the entire experience is now managed through an updated Crusher driver. Equalizers & Hearing Modes: Can be turned on/off or selected to meet your changing noise environment and listening preferences. Battery life is pretty good on Skullcandy headsets, in our experience. The Crusher EVO though almost doubles what the Crusher ANC had at 24 hours to now giving 40 hours on one charge. And you can also fast charge for four hours of use in just 10 minutes. I did not find I needed to charge up the headphones once during our test over a few days. I also appreciated that the headphones turned themselves off when not in use — a solid battery saving help.

You can have several Personal Sound profiles created on your headphone, if you want your friends to try it out! Personal Sound: Tune your Crusher ANC, Crusher Evo, Indy ANC or Dime XT 2 to your unique hearing. Take a simple hearing assessment to generate your personalized sound profile. Hear your music like never before.

Movie Mode' is great for most media. From crisper dialogue to more booming action scenes, you'll hear improved audio nuances both big and small.

Skullcandy has, over the years, pushed out some excellent headphones and earbuds, including the Crusher ANC. Today the company releases a new set, called Crusher Evo, that updates the access to the Crusher driver, while dropping active noise cancelling,(and even the heavy carrying case,) to give a more budget friendly price tag to its new model at launch. What makes the Crusher Evo special is a unique "Sensory Bass" slider on the side of the left cup. This in effect allows you to customize the amount of bass in music far beyond what would normally be allowed by a simple software EQ. When charging the device, we recommend using a cable, charger, or outlet with a power output that does not exceed 18-Watt (5 Volts/3.6amps). First, remove your headphones from your device’s Bluetooth paired list. Now, press and hold the top and bottom buttons for 2 seconds.

Do you need the Skullcandy app?

You will want to make sure the device Bluetooth is enabled, and your earbuds are powered on and paired to your device. With the Sensory Bass slider all the way down, you get the amount of bass a reasonable human being can appreciate. With it all the way up, it can literally rattle your vision. No one needs this much bass. But if you want it, by golly you can have it. I find the sweet spot to be about one-quarter of the way up, which should give you some sort of indication of just how aggressive this slider is. It's nuts. As mentioned above, the Skullcandy Crusher Evo rely on button operation rather than touch control. I personally find this very good, as I still prefer this concept. Issue: Not seeing the red LED light on Crusher™ Evo that indicates headphones are charging. Or, not seeing blue LED light on Crusher™ Evo that indicates headphones are finished charging, despite charging for 2+ hours. Once your Personal Sound profile has been created, you can begin to listen to your music and hear the difference by toggling your Personal Sound ON and OFF in the App.
