Simeticone (or simethicone) is a type of medicine called an antiflatulent. It's used to treat farting (flatulence), trapped wind and bloating, although we cannot be certain if it really works for these symptoms. This medicine is available without prescription. Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This includes medicines you buy without a prescription, including herbal medicines. Medicines used to treat infections such as fluroquinolones, lincosamides, ketoconazole, cyclines including tetracylines, cephalosporins (cefpodoxime & cefdinir) This medicine is available without prescription. However, you still need to use Maalox Plus Tablets carefully, to get the best results from it.Some medicines may be affected by magnesium hydroxide or they may affect how well magnesium hydroxide will work. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are already taking: - salicylates. You have a red and lumpy skin rash, swollen eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing. This could be an allergic reaction. Maalox Plus tablets should not be taken at the same time as other medicines. This is because Maalox Plus Tablets can affect the way other medicines work. If Maalox Plus Tablets are taken within one hour of any other medicine, they can affect the uptake of that medicine into the blood.

This product contains sorbitol (E420). Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine. Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide are both medicines called antacids. They are used to reduce the acidity of the stomach's juices.
